PLANT-BASED PROTEIN
Protein is very important for you as it serves as one of the main building blocks for our muscles, bones and other tissues in our bodies. You need 0,8 grams of protein per kilo of body weight a day, so usually between 40-60 grams daily. Meat is a very rich source of proteins, however it is not the best for you and neither for our planet. If you are on a plant-based diet, you need to be extra aware of your protein sources, but luckily there are many good plant-based proteins – in one HEAL meal, there is 23 grams of plant-based protein coming from some of the best possible sources, such as almonds, goji berries, chia seeds, oats and rice.

GOOD CARBS
Carbohydrates, or carbs, as we say, are a primary source of energy for your body and therefore they make up a major part of your diet. There are several sources of carbohydrates, some healthier than others. It is important to get the slow-release carbs. These will give you energy steadily for hours instead of the fast-release carbs known to give you a peak of energy, followed by a big drop. One HEAL meal contains 45 grams of healthy slow-release carbs, which is around 390 calories, ensuring you enough stable energy to stay active for hours without any worries about gaining weight. Our slow carb sources are organic oats, organic rice, organic seeds and nuts and a whole lot of organic fruits and vegetables.

FIBERS
Fibers only comes from plants, there are no fibers in any animal products, and that is why it is so important to get as many different fruits and vegetables as possible daily. HEAL helps you do that, as it contains 32 different plant-based foods like chicory, kale, broccoli, spinach, cauliflower and many more, as you can see in the full ingredient list.(link to the ingredient list page please). It is simply impossible to cook with that many plant-based ingredients at home.
You need to get at least 30 grams of fiber a day and studies actually show that the more you get, the better it is for your health*. In just one single portion of HEAL you already cover more than half of the recommended amount.
There are endless reasons why fiber is so important for you. First of all, it helps your digestion to work better and helps you not to get constipated. This again will help to prevent appendicitis and varicose veins. More than that, fibers help you feed the beneficial microbes all over your body, especially in your guts, which is where 70% of your immune system is located. Getting enough fiber is therefore the key to help us fight bacteria, that wants to enter our body through the gut lining. Fibers are becoming more and more important in modern diets.

HEALTHY FATS, RICH IN OMEGA 3 AND 6
We all need fat through our diet, as it is a part of several important functions in our body. There are two kinds of fats: saturated fats and unsaturated fats. We want to limit the saturated fats and make sure to get enough of the unsaturated fats that help us fight inflammation, support our heart health, maintain the function of our brain and nerve system and lower our cholesterol, to name a few. The unsaturated healthy fatty acids are the types of fat with the best health benefits, also known as Omega 3 and 6. Our body cannot produce Omega 3 and 6 , so it is crucial to get them through the food. Ideally we should consume between 40-70 grams of fat a day.
In HEAL our sources of healthy fats are olive oil, chia seeds, almonds and coconut. They together give us 12 grams of fat per meal, so by eating 3-5 meals, you get between 36-60 grams, which is the perfect amount.

RAW VITAMINS AND MINERALS EXTRACTED FROM SUPERFOODS
Vitamins and minerals are commonly used as supplementation, but what only a few people know is that most of them are not from natural sources – they are synthetically made. There is not much doubt that natural vitamins and minerals from their original sources and with their natural enzymes are better absorbed and accepted by our bodies. That is why in HEAL we have extracted all 26 vitamins and minerals from superfoods, ensuring that we keep all the above mentioned benefits. Furthermore, we kept them all RAW, meaning that they have been extracted at a temperature under 46,1 degrees Celsius.
As HEAL is a plant-based meal, we enhanced the natural sources for B12 vitamins and vitamin D for you not to need to take any extra supplementation.

NATURAL PROBIOTICS AND ENZYMES
There are millions of tiny organisms or bacteria living in our bodies, also called microbes. That is the good bacteria known by our body and it helps us fight against invading bacteria, so called pathogens, trying to enter from the outside. Our microbes are to be found on the skin, in the nose, mouth and especially in our gut, where they serve as an important part of our immune system.
Unfortunately, nowadays our meat and fish are mostly farmed and in order to optimise the production, there are small amounts of antibiotics given to livestock, which then get transferred to us through our food. This means that some of our microbes get killed and hence our immune system is weakened. The same thing happens with our fruits and vegetables that are being sprayed with pesticides, meaning to kill insects, but which, unless you wash them well, can end up killing some of our good microbes. This is the reason why eating organic is so important.
We have added probiotics into HEAL in order to support our microbiome and thus our immune system, which is crucial for having a healthy body.

BENEFICIAL HERBS AND SPICES
Herbs and Spices are often being underestimated for their role in food, but they not only bring flavours, they also can have powerful health benefits. Even small doses of certain herbs and spices can be extremely beneficial to your healthy diet. Many of them are strong antioxidants and they have other specific beneficial properties. For instance cinnamon, that can help lowering blood sugar level, turmeric that can help against inflammation or garlic which is known to help reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases, just to mention a few.
Into HEAL, we have added turmeric, ginger, garlic, cinnamon, vanilla and parsley. We handpicked these herbs and spices in order to nourish all the different parts of your body.
